Boot Camp is HERE!!!
Finally! The weather here in Arizona is cooling down! This is the time of year that we all start remembering why it is that we live here... There is nothing more spectacular than grabbing a sweatshirt to head outdoors in the middle of the afternoon.
Why in the world would you go to the stuffy, dark, air conditioned gym when you can take your workout into a park! Outside! We have so much fun in boot camp classes! Everybody has a great time and enjoys sharing stories of all the weight they lost in the camp prior!
Boot camp classes are effective because they are exercises done in shorter intervals, whether it be cardio or strength training. We only do them for a short time, so you're encouraged to maximize your efforts. Before you know it, the 60 minute class is up and you can hardly wait for the next day! Each class is different, so you never know what you're going to do that day, which is have the fun.
In a four week class, you can expect to lose 3-5% body fat. If you haven't tried it yet... sign up today! Click here.
If you can't make it, or live too far away, don't let that stop you! Download the AZ 360 Boot Camp Program onto your mobile device! Get all of the same benefits... on your schedule!
Click here and choose "Shop for a Digital Trainer". It's that easy!

Quick Health Tip: Flat Abs
Here it is: Are you ready? Lean in... a little closer....the secret to flat abs...is........... Squeeze Them! That's it!
(Thank you very much, I'll be here all week!)
It's true. For every 10 seconds you squeeze your abdominal muscles like someone is about to punch you, it is equal to one full sit up on the floor. WOW! It's that easy? Imagine all the sit-ups you can get in every day. By tightening your tummy, it works all four abdominal muscles, including the transverse abdominals; which helps to strengthen the lower back. You get a great two-for-one workout all day long.
Try this:
While in the car, squeeze your abs at every stop light.
While watching T.V. squeeze your abs during commercial breaks.
Eventually, it will become a habit, and before you know it you'll have shaved inches off of your waistline!

Phone Coaching?
As a personal trainer, one of the greatest tools I have started using is phone coaching. This is especially useful when training someone via the internet. Phone coaching makes both parties accountable for their own actions. For example, if I recommend a client start walking for 30 minutes 2-3 times per week, they are more likely to accomplish that goal knowing I will be calling them at the end of that week. The client feels better knowing they've achieved their goal, and I am able to keep better tabs on the progress of my clients. This makes online training so effective. It is much more cost effect, and when you add it in with the weekly phone coaching, you've got yourself a recipe for success!

My Thoughts
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Here, I will be happy to answer any health, fitness, phone coaching, or nutrition questions that you may have.
Let me start out by introducing myself and telling you a little bit about why I started my own company.
About me: I am a single mommy of a spectacular 2 year. I am completely in love with him, and amazed every single day at how lives in his little world. I am very blessed in that I am till great friends with his dad. We typically spend 1-2 nights each week as a family, because I feel that it is so important to his development and self esteem as he gets older.
I am a huge Green Bay Packer fan, in fact, my dogs name is Lambeau, after "The Frozen Tundra".
I started my own company because- I'm crazy. That's it. No other reason. Second to being a mom, this is the most difficult thing I've ever done. But I wouldn't trade either of them for the world. The bottom line is that I have a passion for the human body, and I enjoy helping people.
I have been in this industry for over 16 years, and have seen some very frightening things in commercial fitness centers and even in some private centers. The problem is that there are not enough standards as far as our industry goes. As trainers and instructors, we need to be held accountable for the information we provide to our members and clients. What I see too much of, is someone who likes working out, thinks, I want to be a trainer. So... they take an online course, print out the certificate and call themselves a professional. Now, on a side note.... I have no problem with online courses, I think they are great. However, I feel that it is important to also have a 4 year degree along with it. Personal training is more than just working out. It's about developing your muscles and strengthening your heart to enable you to live the best life you can.
My advice: ALWAYS ask your trainer WHAT certificates they have, and whether or not they have a degree.
So, that is why I started my own company. I was just so fed up with walking through gyms, seeing "professionals" do things to their clients that were not only unnecessary...but down right dangerous! All the while, they are texting on their phones or looking around the gym instead of focusing on YOU! After all... aren't you the one paying them for their time???)
Instructors too. There is a big difference between telling someone WHAT to do, and HOW to do it. A lot of times, especially in yoga/pilates/kickbox classes, where the instruction should be very specific to avoid injury, the instructor is saying do this. Now this. And I look around, and nearly everyone is doing it incorrectly!
My TWO Cents:
You can workout all day, everyday and it just wont do you as much good if you're not doing it right! I aways stress: Quality Over Quantity.... Everytime.
